Abi joined the Abbey team as head nurse in April 2018. She graduated from Harper Adams in 2011 and, wanting to build on her clinical knowledge and provide the best for her patients, has achieved a number of additional qualifications in areas such as emergency and critical care and veterinary nutrition. If that wasn’t enough, she has returned to university part time to gain an honours degree. When Abi hasn’t got her head in books she enjoys sharing her clinical knowledge with junior members of the team. Her main interests are nutrition, nurse clinics, medicine, infection control and critical care. At home Abi spends lots of time on the family farm with her very lively dog named Eddie and two cats, Sumi and Teri.
Cindi Dhaliwal RVN
Cindi qualified as a registered veterinary nurse from Rodbaston College in August 2017 and joined the Abbey team in April 2018. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing with a keen interest in theatre and anaesthesia work, alongside inpatient care. In her spare time Cindi likes to go walking with her naughty German Shepherd, Nico.
Michelle Jones RVN
Michelle has had a lifelong passion and love of animals, and since leaving the RAF in 1992, has worked in a variety of animal related roles. The welfare and overall health of animals is what led her to turn this passion into a vocation when in 2015 she graduated as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She has a particular interest in animal rehabilitation and the associated clinical nursing/recovery aspects.
Michelle enjoys nurse clinics/client interaction and is also keen to widen her animal well-being skill sets to include dog grooming. Her hobbies include horse riding, taking long walks with her three rescue dogs (Arnold, Pretzel and Neo), and relaxing with her two rescue cats
Becky Lewis RVN
Becky completed her her final year at Harper Adams University in September 2017, graduating to become a qualified RVN. She enjoys all aspects of her role in the practice, with particular interests in inpatient care and lab work. She also has a keen interest in animal nutrition and is hoping to expand her knowledge within this area once qualified. Outside of work Becky is kept busy looking after her flock of pedigree Ryeland sheep and her naughty Collie called Roy. In her spare time she is often found baking, which brings much delight to the rest of the team.
Laura Mainwaring RVN
Laura's inspiration to work within the veterinary world came from her great love of animals followed by a keen interest in their health and wellbeing. She enjoys her position here at Abbey and takes great pride in caring for our patients and helping clients. She studied for her veterinary nursing diploma at Reaseheath College, and has been part of our team since September 2014. Laura has a particular interest in caring for our hospitalised patients and also the healthcare of junior pets. Her own pet at home is a dog called Dora.
