Veterinary nurses

Abi joined the Abbey team as head nurse in April 2018. She graduated from Harper Adams in 2011 and, wanting to build on her clinical knowledge and provide the best for her patients, has achieved a number of additional qualifications in areas such as emergency and critical care and veterinary nutrition. If that wasn’t enough, she has returned to university part time to gain an honours degree. When Abi hasn’t got her head in books she enjoys sharing her clinical knowledge with junior members of the team. Her main interests are nutrition, nurse clinics, medicine, infection control and critical care. At home Abi spends lots of time on the family farm with her very lively dog named Eddie and two cats, Sumi and Teri.

Cindi qualified as a registered veterinary nurse from Rodbaston College in August 2017 and joined the Abbey team in April 2018. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing with a keen interest in theatre and anaesthesia work, alongside inpatient care. In her spare time Cindi likes to go walking with her naughty German Shepherd, Nico.

Michelle started her veterinary career in 2013 in a large practice with a mix of equine, small and exotic animals. After a short career break Michelle joined the team in March 2019. Previously Michelle had dedicated herself to life in the Military and working with horses, however with having a passion for animals she turned her hand very quickly to veterinary nursing.

She especially enjoys post op care and clinics Michelle’s love of animals is apparent in her home life, having rescued three dogs, two cats and two horses she is always kept on her toes.

Becky completed her her final year at Harper Adams University in September 2017, graduating to become a qualified RVN. She enjoys all aspects of her role in the practice, with particular interests in inpatient care and lab work. She also has a keen interest in animal nutrition and is hoping to expand her knowledge within this area once qualified. Outside of work Becky is kept busy looking after her flock of pedigree Ryeland sheep and her naughty Collie called Roy. In her spare time she is often found baking, which brings much delight to the rest of the team.

Kara has been with us since October 2016 where she completed her course as a Veterinary Care Assistant and has now finished her diploma and is a fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse. Kara has wanted to be a veterinary nurse for as long as she can remember as she has a big love for all animals.

She has two rescue Lurchers called Barney and Annie who like to cause mischief. She is interested in referral work and critical care and hopes she can be involved in this side of veterinary nursing in her future.
